The sixth annual Osceola Recognition Night shown in the high school auditorium honored top students and clubs. Dixie Walgreen and Ruth Zelda earned PEO awards. Thomas Husak and Tommy Hastings won Chamber of Commerce senior boy honors. Gerry Bowe and Sonja Walker were named Girls State delegates. Walden Jones and Jim Lewis won Boys State slots. multiple scholastic, band, FFA, FHA, and cheer awards were announced along with valedictorian Dixie Walgreen and salutatorian Thomas Husak.

Last Round-Up Sunday at School District 35
The last round-up of former pupils and teachers of Blue Valley School Dist. 35 near Stromsburg drew about 275 people for a picnic at Buckley Park and a 2 30 broadcast from the school. Minnie Burke marked her 78th birthday with a cake as the oldest pupil. Hattie Baker Newman the oldest teacher, began in 1898, with 12 former pupils present.
