The paper notes unprecedentedly low clothing and dry goods prices will be maintained with a large spot cash purchase. It claims the county’s largest clothing buy supports prices that cannot be duplicated and cites doubling sales in six months due to basement-level pricing and first class goods.
Items from the Stromsburg Osceola area cover visits by Theo Beebe and Rev L F Smith, a sickbed report on Mrs G Pheasant, Charley Grosvenor in Osceola, travel by Col A H McGregor and companions, a dismissed case against Tom Afcore, Cuban souvenir coins distribution by Dr S Elmer, a birth to Mr and Mrs Fred Merrick, and a mass meeting at the courthouse to discuss a gym and reading room. Ernest Smith visited Lincoln on Saturday while a stock train of 12 cars departed Osceola on Friday. Col S G Chase Shelby’s war horse was a Saturday visitor. S A Donaldson of David City met County Treasurer Ludden about taxes. Norris Mickey joined the Lincoln excursion Sunday and planned a business trip. Elaine Karrer of Lincoln visited her brother Fred at Camp Alvin Saunders before his regiment heads to Chickamauga Tennessee. From Lincoln she proceeds to Beatrice for a short visit.
Gen Walrath and J C Rahe visited Omaha on Tuesday while local clubs hold meetings and residents like Mrs. McChesney and Mrs. Cypher traveled from Stromsburg and Shelby. Dewey’s front reports claim decisive naval victories at Manila with minimal casualties and preparations to reinforce the Philippines.

Shreveport druggist Aug J Bogel calls Dr Kings New Discovery the best cough cure and top seller. Stafford Arizona merchant J E Campbell adds that it cures consumption coughs and colds and never fails. The ad notes a quarter century of use and offers free trials at D H Kunkel's Drug Store.
Union Pacific will sell tickets at One Fare for the round trip plus 5.00 from all points in Kansas Nebraska Colorado and Utah to Rawlins Wyoming. Tickets available on the first and third Tuesday in May June July August September October and November. Daily service between Rawlins and Grand Encampment except Sundays.
