Irvin Noble, 84, a former Osceola resident, died April 29 in a Grand Island hospital after a stroke two days earlier. Survived by wife, two daughters and a son. He once ran a retail liquor store in Osceola. Funeral services were May 1 at Livingston Sondermann Funeral Home. Interment followed at Grand Island Cemetery.

About 225 attendees joined a 4-H Sunday at Osceola High School Auditorium. The Osceola Thinclads finished third at the Goldenrod Conference Track meet in Columbus on May 2. Polk won with 50 points, Clark's second with 41, while Osceola scored 39.14 points and set two conference records and a school record. Wieseman led with firsts in the 100 and 220 yard dashes and contributed to relay and broad jump, Morris won discus, and the mile relay set a new Osceola mark.
