For the second time this year thieves targeted Osceola and Shelby last week. In Osceola the Peterson filling station the lumber yard and Smith Grain Co. were entered though the loot was small. In Shelby about one hundred dollars was taken from the Farmers elevator and the lumber yard office was ransacked.
The Osceola Bulldogs beat Aurora 5 to 4 after trading leads and tying at 4-4 through regulation. Pitcher Chuck Robak delivered a strong effort as Osceola scored the deciding run in the top of the ninth and remained undefeated this season.

Residents from Wesley Chapel area hosted and visited relatives over the weekend. Louis Schott, Ed Augustine, and other families celebrated birthdays and hosted guests in Columbus, Shelby, and Omaha. A shower for Helen Mae Deeter and a birthday party for Lorraine Dawes’ sixteenth birthday were noted.
