Gust T. Johnson and Claus G. Oberg of Stromsburg were naturalized in Osceola district court. A brief program followed with prayer by Rev. Monkman the Osceola high school girls sextette and D A R flags and booklets presented. Judge Harry D. Landis spoke on patriotism and citizenship as the audience joined in singing America. Johnson and Oberg both born in Sweden arrived in the United States about twelve years ago and are 37 years old.

Mrs. Dudley Sronce 24 died April 23 at St Marys hospital Columbus after brain abscess. Born Erma Heinemeyer May 25 1914 in Polk County she moved with family to Silver Creek and Clarks then to Columbus. She married Dudley Sronce May 16 1936 at David City. they had two sons Jackie Dean and Donald Dudley. Survived by mother Mable Heinemeyer sisters Elmer Dittmer and Olive Heinemeyer. Funeral at Clarks Methodist Church with Rev Leach. burial Pierce Chapel cemetery.

John Detimore aged 85, longtime Seward and Ulysses area resident, died Monday in Seward on April 24, 1939.
