Last week two 4-H clothing clubs were formed for girls. In Osceola Mrs. E F Danskin serves as leader with Irene Sargent as president, Vivian Danskin as vice president, Freda Zang as secretary, Irene Warner as news reporter. In Valley precinct district 54 Miss Clarice Harris leads the Valley club with Dalpan Pickett as president, Ruth Koehler as vice president, Helen Koehler as secretary, and Stella Harris as news reporter.

About 126 veterans attended a county wide meeting at Scott's Hall Stromsburg with Ameri can Legion and World War Veterans of Osceola Polk and Stromsburg posts. A beef meal was served and a program featured the Legion Quartet Wilbur Whiteacre talks by J N Norton and John Curtis. County Commander Dr Peterson led the event and Judge W W Norton acted as toastmaster.

Emma Jane Emery born October 18 1849 at Quaker Milla Michigan married Lyman VanHoosen March 10 1870 in Hancock County Illinois. They moved to Nebraska 1872 lived near Osceola then in Osceola until her death April 28 1930. Survived by six children 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral at First Methodist Church Osceola conducted by Rev Handel Collier with burial in Osceola Cemetery.
