The Literary Society enjoyed a Sunday program while the Junior Commercial Club held a regular meeting. A Friday study on taxation was held, with recess extended by five minutes. Grades will study dramatization, the debating team prepares for Osceola Exeter contest, and Paul Johnson resigned as Senior Annual business manager. Floyd Heinemeyer was selected to replace him. Supt Duncan and Supt Rasmussen attended a district teachers association in Central City to discuss normal training work.
The Presbyterian church holds morning services at the usual hour with the sermon Growth in Grace. Evening service starts at 8 p.m with the topic Clean Garments. Theo J. Asmus is pastor and invites all to attend the song service.
The Presbyterian church hosts a Men’s Banquet and forms a Westminster Bible Class. Business leaders join the class and more men are urged to attend. On Sunday at 10 o’clock Mr. H. L. Fillman of Stromsburg will speak to the class in the church basement. All men welcome.
In Lincoln Nebraska on Saturday the Dry Federation gathering drew about 1000 people despite heavy rain. W J Bryan spoke to the crowd and, according to the writer, the event boosted support for the amendment and dry candidates with Bryan donating a $100 check for Lancaster County Dry Federation and pledging time before the primaries.
