She taught school early in life and married George Wilbur Price in 1893 at Silver Creek. Survivors include daughter Evelyn Colborn San Antonio Texas son Paul Kansas City and grandchildren Ann Mary Colborn George Price Thelma Price plus other relatives and friends. District 13 PTA Hosts Dance and Measles Update

The District 13 PTA meeting at the school featured a dance with high and low prizes and lunch. Local families visited, including the Burritts, Johansens, Gondringers, Shemeks, Gibbons, Schmoker, Valaseks, and Schotts. Obituary: Mrs Emil Hosner of Osceola and Stromsburg

Mrs Emil Hosner born May 21 1883 in Jay County Indiana died March 22 1945 at Osceola Hospital aged 61. She married Emil Hosner July 3 1912 and had two children Pearl Jacobs and Irvin George who died at age two. She leaves six grandsons two granddaughters and siblings. Mrs. John Miller Peterson Dies at 67 in Osceola Neb

Mrs. John Miller Peterson born October 24 1877 in Minoak Illinois died March 19 1945 at her Osceola home age 67 years 4 months 23 days. She lived in Mead and Polk County Nebraska before marriage to John Miller on October 6 1897 and they had a daughter Veronia who died in infancy. She was baptized October 1898 and remained a devoted Christian. Funeral February 2:30 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home Osceola with Rev W Hamilton officiating burial in Osceola cemetery.

Osceola Property Sold At Sheriff's Sale

About 20 pieces of Osceola city property sold at sheriff's sale Tuesday. One modern residence and one business building included. the rest were small houses and vacant lots. The old pool hall fetched $300 to Clyde Smith, and the Sarah Byers residence sold for $525 to D. R. Byers. Most vacant lots were bid in by the city. Another sale is set for April 11.

Polk County Corn Loan Boost Seen Amid Record 1944 Yield

County Chairman Robert Taddiken notes 186142 bushels of corn under loan in Polk County up 27449 since March 1 as farmers back the reserve drive from Nebraska's 1944 crop. Moisture cutoff lowers 3 percent April 12 while Polk reports 44.7 bushels per acre 1944 against a 10 year average of 13.6. Loaned corn aims to stockpile feed for military civilian needs into 1946 despite tight railroad box cars.
