Feed grain participation urged by Agriculture chief
Secretary of Agriculture Orville Freeman urged maximum farmer signup in the 1966 feed grain program to reduce surpluses and avoid price-driven withdrawal from participation. He noted wheat carryover will stay near adequate levels, so the voluntary wheat diversion option is withdrawn except for winter wheat where some plantings used it. Signup runs through April 1 at county offices, per Hans O Jensen Nebraska ASCS chair.
