Former Polk County Resident Imm Dies in Nebraska
Robert C. Imm 78 of Gresham Nebraska died Friday at his daughter’s Lincoln home after 75 years in Nebraska. Born in Wausa Wisconsin he moved to Nebraska at three and lived in Silver Creek before Gresham. Survived by two daughters three sons 14 grandchildren two great grandchildren two brothers and a sister. Funeral Monday 2 p.m. at Gresham Presbyterian with Masonic graveside rites at Gresham Cemetery.

Volunteers will collect this week to raise nine hundred dollars for the National Red Cross. Contributions beyond that amount stay 68.2 percent for the local chapter and 31.8 percent for National. Shelby Couple Celebrates Golden Wedding Anniversary
Mr and Mrs Martin Fasbender marked their golden wedding anniversary on February 25 with a two to five o clock open house at their Shelby home attended by 146 relatives and friends. Relatives from near and far joined in tributes as Rev Wantz offered prayers and a three tier cake served by helpers. The couple, married February 25 1897 in David City, have one son and two daughters and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Osceola lost a tight 28 to 27 district tournament game against Polk at Columbus last Wednesday evening. Don Ray Byers missed a late free throw that could have tied the game as Osceola outplayed Polk most of the contest. Polk fell to St Bonaventure later, while Cedar Rapids won the tournament with L H Hanson and Dr R Q Peterson officiating.
