Miss Hulda Johnson traveled to Oscs cla Monday morning. Carl Peels of this city visited Wa hoo for a few days starting Monday morning. Miss Helen Buckley returned to Lincoln Monday after Sunday at home. Miss Ella Rochilitz employed in the Sharp home spent Sunday in Polk. Conrad Johnson of Sweden Home went to Polk Saturday evening to work for Chas Moline. A T Wilson returned to Arcadia Friday after visiting the Marquis family. Elmer Lind returned to Grand Island Saturday after a short visit with his parents. Misses Elsie Campbell and Esther Wallquist went to Central City Saturday to remain over Sunday. Chas Johnson Route 3 and Andrew Johnson of Osceola were York passengers Monday on business.
The notice thanks J F Reynolds Post members and local friends for support after the death of John Owens born July 25 1851 in Decatur County Indiana died February 28 1916 at Osceola Nebraska. He left five brothers and two sisters and children Nora Taft Grover Owens and W E Owens. The obituary traces his moves from Jasper County Indiana to Osceola Nebraska and mentions a 1903 relocation and marriage to Cora E Cottrell with five children total. The second item describes a county dry movement plan in Polk County Nebraska with union meetings March 5 in Shelby Osceola and Wesley Chapel and a Dry Federation convention March 26 at the Osceola Court House inviting all sympathizers to attend.

The Osceola high school debating team will debate the question resolved that Congress should substantially adopt the recommendations of the Secretaries of Navy and War for increased armament with Rising City high school team Sunday evening at 8 o'clock in the High School auditorium. Come out and hear this debate.
