Chairman Maurice Kremer presses urgent conservation and congressional funding for the 106 million Mid-State Irrigation project covering 550000 acres along the Platte north bank.

Nebraska water plans and power consolidation move forward
Plans in Nebraska call for 23 dams and reservoirs and four hydro plants to support pumping and distribution, aiming to stabilize underground supplies and attract industry. A separate amendment would create public power corporations under a single board, approved 36 to 8 and headed to the November 1968 ballot after a 1966 supreme court decision nullified the merger act. Community notices recount social visits, family gatherings, and local events across Osceola and surrounding areas.
