Rootworm hatching later than usual this year in Nebraska
Nebraska entomologists report corn rootworm eggs are emerging later than normal. Though no damage yet, small larvae may feed within a week as corn is vulnerable, especially in untreated or lightly treated fields. Rainy conditions wash away granules and hasten chemical breakdown, so monitor fields and apply alternative treatments within 10 days or by lay-by if needed.
