Irving H Keating of Elba died Sunday morning at the Veterans hospital in Lincoln after a long stay there since before Christmas. He lost a leg from wounds in the European Theatre during the late war, as reported by the St Paul Phonograph. A farm near Rising City, Glen Marquis, tests electric hay drying. A similar corn drying test earned four cents a bushel premium for the owner by the mill.

Stolen Truck Recovered At Omaha Terminal
The Osceola Lumber Company reports its truck stolen from the yard last Tuesday night was found the next day in Omaha. No injuries occurred and the truck returned with J ohn and Sheldon Bond after a load of bridge plank. A trucking firm caller later confirmed a missing truck was parked at their loading dock that Wednesday afternoon.

Brother of Osceola Lady Dies in Lincoln
William K. Whitla aged 49 former editor and publisher of the Butte Neb Gazette and the Spencer Advocate died at his Lincoln home from an intracranial hemorrhage. He moved to Lincoln in 1945 and was the brother of Mrs. Keith Feller of Osceola. Funeral services were held in Lincoln and burial took place at Creston Neb.

Sander Peterson born October 15 1874 at Swede Home Nebraska died June 15 1950 aged 75 years eight months at the old home place. He was a lifelong member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church Swede Home and left a widow Hannah Marie Johnson and five children. Funeral services were held at the Calvary church with interment in Swede Home cemetery.
