Long Time Resident Answers Final Summons
Andrew James Inness born September 23, 1873 in a sod house south of Shelby Nebraska died last Friday at age 73 8 21. He married Annie Snider and farmed south of Shelby then north of Osceola before moving to Osceola in 1907 later retiring there survived by wife three sons one daughter two sisters one brother five grandchildren and many friends services were held at the Methodist Church Interment Osceola cemetery. Osceola Wins From Geneva In The Ninth Osceola ball club rallied to score four runs in the ninth to beat Geneva 4 to 2. Next Sunday 8 30 p m Stromsburg game at Buckley Park under lights due to unfinished fair grounds lighting.

Mrs. Mary Smolenski 72 of Polk County died June Sth at St. Mary's hospital after a long illness. Born in Tarnov Poland, she married John Smolenski in 1895 and farmed in Pilsno near Duncan before moving to Silver Creek. Survived by four daughters, one son, two sisters and many grandchildren. Funeral in Silver Creek. Lewis Smolenski 47 died June 138 at his Osceola farm. He married Valeria Lisko in 1928 and left wife two daughters and two sons. Funeral at St. Marys Pilsno. Burial in parish cemetery.

Thieves hit two Osceola business houses last week. Ruh's Drug Store was entered Thursday night drilling holes to reach the safe but no money was taken and no damage beyond the safe area. Osceola Lumber Yard also had a shattered safe that yielded nothing. Sheriff Peterson collected a prowler’s flashlight for fingerprint analysis in Lincoln.
