Motor Vehicle Use Stamp Deadline Announced
The five dollar motor vehicle use stamp for the 1943 44 fiscal year must be displayed in the upper left corner of the right windshield by July 1. Stamps are yellow this year and available at post offices. Beginning July 2, 1943, drivers without the stamp become delinquent.
Prowl ers Break In Stromsburg Federal Bank
Prowlers entered the Stromsburg Federal Bank by breaking the rear door glass. They found little of value besides pennies and nickels left in a tray. The incident is treated as a federal offense and may be investigated by the FBI. amateurs are suspected and consequences could be severe if caught.

Shelby News Family Visits and Newborns Highlight Week
Jerre Johnson of David City visited Shelby relatives with his grandparents Mr and Mrs Mart Frosbender. The Johnsons later visited family and took home their son. Lou Jane Johnson left for San Francisco to visit her aunt Mrs Margaret Tennison. A seven pound baby girl Patricia Lee was born to Cpl Roland White and wife at Stromsburg hospital on June 9. Corporal White is on a furlough at home with wife and baby. James Lee McMeek was born June 11 in Shelby hospital weighing six pounds eleven ounces. Mrs Agnes Kumpf traveled from Columbus to Gladtone Oregon to spend the summer with her daughter Mrs Leigh French and husband.
