A rambling reminiscence describes a loose shoe guiding a horse and a comical bicycle car mishap. Bert Lewis, driving home, crashes through mud and hay with a dragged drag and a chorus of nervous reactions, yet the machine ends usable after a muddy rescue.
Last Sunday marked the twenty fifth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Johnson near Osteola. A gathering of about fifty relatives and friends surprised the couple with a dinner and a bounteous feast. They received silver gifts and warm wishes as the day ended in feasting and lasting memory.

The funeral service for Alfred Gierhart, born 1833 in Marietta Ohio, was conducted at the M E church in Osceola with Rev Reed officiating. A choir performed favorites and the burial followed beside his wife in Osceola cemetery. many locals attended to honor a longtime community figure.
