Last Sunday funeral rites for Governor Mickey drew mourners from across Osceola county and beyond. Governor A C Shallenberger and Grand Army comrades attended. services at First M E Church featured a floral tribute and a sermon honoring forty years of public service. The eulogies highlighted his faith, duty, and optimism, while pallbearers included his five sons and a son in law, with many distant friends and relatives paying tribute.

Osceola defeats Genoa 10 to 2 at City Park Saturday afternoon in a fast high scoring contest. Denniie McBeth, Ed Shank, Harm Shank and Goerke led the batters as Osceola piled up nine runs by the sixth inning and coasted home as the Indians were shut out until late in the game.
Osceola will host Boyd’s New Model Show next Saturday with Joe Burrows Boyd as manager. The vaudeville program promises high class acts, music, singing and dancing, plus the feature Prof Clark’s trained dog and pony troupe led by Pinto. Free exhibition opens in front of the tent at 7 30 with seats available for all.
All students in grades nine through twelve who seek free high school tuition must submit their applications by June 13 1910. Applications received after this date cannot be accepted. Lillie M. Cole county Superintendent.
A sheriff’s sale by order of the Polk County Nebraska district court will auction Lots 8 and 9, block 2, Smiths Second Addition to Osceola, to the highest cash bidder on June 28, 1910 at 1 PM at the south front door of the county courthouse.
