Osceola Bride Weds Des Moines Man in Church Ceremony

Miss Pauline Snider of Osceola marries Joyce A. Swan of Des Moines at the Methodist Church with Rev. Handel Collier officiating. The wedding featured egg shell panne satin, green and pink gowns, organ music, and a reception at the bride’s home for about 50 guests. The couple plans a two week trip to Colorado and the south and will reside at 1609 West 30th Street, Des Moines.

Young Farmer Devern Lind Dies By Own Action

Devern Lind age 25 son of Mr and Mrs John Lind of Polk neighborhood died by suicide Monday afternoon. After a daylong search his body was found Tuesday in the farm center concealed by bushes. He leaves a widow and two young children and is a nephew of former county commissioner Henry Lind. He had suffered low mood following a past accident when an older brother was killed.

Mrs. Anna Iceberg Dies From Injuries After Car Accident

Mrs. Anna Iceberg, about 68, died in a York hospital from infections linked to injuries suffered when struck by a car about ten days prior. The Stromsburg resident had both legs broken after stepping into the vehicle driven by Hjelmer Peterson. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon. she is survived by her husband Gust Iceberg and two children Mrs Emil Anderson and Lawrence Iceberg.

Prominent Farmer 8 Dead In Polk County Incident

John Burg, 58, a longtime Polk County farmer living south of Stromsburg, died Tuesday morning after a nine month illness. Survived by wife, one son, one daughter, and brother Lewis A. Burg of Stromsburg. Funeral services expected Friday at the Swedish Lutheran Church.
