Osceola OHS Alumni Honor 29th Reunion Banquet

Approximately 375 Osceola High School alumni gathered for the 29th annual reunion banquet at the downtown auditorium on Saturday evening May 29 1976. The event honored graduating classes 1916 1926 1936 1946 1956 and 1966 with tours of the new building, speeches by class representatives, and a 1977 reunion plan set.

OHS Junior To Attend Lawmen Week In Lincoln

Russell Sigler will join 43 eleventh grade boys for the ninth annual Junior Lawmen Program at Nebraska State Patrol Training Center Lincoln Air Park from June 7 to June 11. The session covers drug education traffic law enforcement accident investigation first aid and alcohol education with field radar VASCAR and fingerprinting activities.

Osceola Parade Highlights County U S A Celebration

More than 500 participated in the Osceola Agriculture U S A celebration featuring a 30 unit parade and a courtyard theatre program of fairy tales with a modern twist. Grand marshals were Mr and Mrs Martin Anderson. The Pied Pipers from Hastings performed folk tale dramatizations on the courthouse lawn after the parade.

Outstanding Osceola student earns Bausch and Lomb honor

Kent Rodene, son of the DeVerne Rodenes, is the first Osceola High School recipient of the Bausch and Lomb Science Award for top scholastic standing in science. He received a bronze medal from science instructor Donald Andelt at Recognition Night on May 18 and is eligible for a four year scholarship. He was also named by the Osceola Chamber of Commerce as the second highest ranking senior boy.

Sick Don Byers Back Home After Hospital Stay

News notes that Don Byers returned home from Lincoln General Hospital after surgery and Dr. W F Monson was dismissed from the same hospital following surgery. Raymond Urban, 19, was hospitalized at Methodist in Omaha after a severe right-hand injury from fireworks.
