Blue River Beaverettes 4-H Club spent May 27 cleaning up Osceola area around the Historical Marker and planting flowers at its base. Alumni- banquet attendees and residents gather for social hour at the Osceola Legion Club.

Mr and Mrs Morris Simonsen of Wamego Kansas spent the weekend in Osceola with Misses Cindy and Margie Simonsen joining them for a two week visit. Mary Lou Kresha hosted 22 Rising City Pep Club girls for supper and a slumber party. Mrs Wm Buhl welcomed guests Mrs Emner Ahlquist Mrs Anna Johnson Mrs Chas Walgreen and Mrs Oscar Jones. Maude Magnuson Velma Treadway hosted Rex Breiner Leon Rainsforth Floyd Elrod and Helen Kinder among recent visitors from Litchfield Grand Island Stromsburg and Geneva.
Funeral services for Mrs Mil dred Ruth Sellers 40 were held May 27 at the United Methodist church in Shelby. She died May 21 from injuries in an auto accident in Denver. Burial was in Shelby Cemetery. Survivors include her father Floyd Hester of Arkansas mother Mrs Charles Sobotka of Schuyler two sons four sisters and one brother.
