Osceola Chamber Plans Christmas Decorations Purchase
The Osceola Chamber of Commerce, at its July meeting in city hall, discussed buying second hand Christmas decorations due to poor condition of the 1969-set display. A Dowling Gissler committee will decide after talking with County Commissioners about lighting around the courthouse.

Osceola Lions hosted three guests at their noon meeting. New attorney Alan Gless was sponsored by Gene Bartak, and Lions Jones and Truman Bachenberg received special membership pins from President Gene Sterup for welcoming Dr Steve Kuhnel. A district cabinet meeting was announced for August 10 at Broken Bow. Osceola Lions plan to attend Genoa’s Pawnee Days parade pending committee action. Dr Davis criticized immigration policy and U S Senators for visa delays. A July 21 car accident near Polk left Ricki Flodman unharmed as a pickup rolled in a ditch causing about 200 dollars in damage. July 24 near Silver Creek, Charles Haifley’s car struck a tractor, causing about 3500 dollars in damage with no injuries.

Osceola Joins National Flood Insurance Program
The U S Department of Housing and Urban Development announced Osceola has been accepted into the National Flood Insurance Program effective July 30 1975. Property owners may buy federally subsidized flood policies with expanded coverage up to 35000 for single family homes 100000 for other buildings and 100000 for nonresidential contents up to 350 per 100 of coverage. Policies take effect immediately with a 30 day first period and a 15 day waiting period after.
