Hard Name To Tackle In Brooklyn Copper Theft Case

John Spys faced United States commissioner Morle on a copper theft charge from the navy yard. Unable to spell or pronounce his name, he was described as hungry and worn, saying he thought the copper was rubbish at Cob dock. He was held for examination and remanded to jail as “say, Bill.”

Train Schedules East and West From Osceola Depot

Through tickets sold and baggage checked all points east from Osceola depot daily except Sunday. Trains going east include passenger at 7 10 am and 7 40 am with freights. westbound schedules list freight at 6 35 am and passenger at 9 03 pm, daily except Saturday.

Soldiers halted at depot by order from Lomax

Company H troops planned to go to Omaha but were told by Capt. Beer and Passenger Agent Lomax not to issue more transportation as exposition managers cannot handle it. Accommodation for soldier boys will be very limited according to Stromsburg News.

Portland Bound Excursions Extend Via New Route

Union Pacific announces weekly personally conducted excursions and daily sleeping cars to Portland will be routed through to Portland via the O S and O R N from Granger. Cars run between Missouri River and Portland attached to The Overland Limited. Daily departures are Friday from Council Bluffs at 8 a.m. and Omaha at 9:50 a.m. Inquiries to R R Gunne, Agent.
