Death of Walter A Cornish noted by Shelby community
Walter A. Cornish of Polk County Nebraska died at 90 after a long career as county surveyor and publisher of the Shelby Sun. Born March 31 1853 in Lake County Indiana he lived in Nebraska since 1873 and owned the Shelby Sun from 1906 to 1938. He was married to Georgia Ann Lohr and survived by his widow son Kenneth A Cornish two grandchildren and military cousin Allen Cornish and Robert Cornish. Services were held July 5 1943 in Osceola Nebraska with interment in Osceola cemetery. he was active in civic affairs and church groups.
