Polk County Fair To Celebrate Two Centuries Of Nation And Fair
Fairgoers will mark the Polk County Fair’s 100th anniversary alongside the United States’ 200th birthday. The five day event runs July 13–17 south of Osceola with Moore’s Greater Shows on the midway. A Bicentennial flag will be presented July 14 at 7 30 p.m. in the arena before the rodeo.

Chamber Plans Bicentennial Week Events and Sign Repairs
At the June 30 Chamber of Commerce meeting in the city building members discussed the Bicentennial parade children contests and barbecue. They commended restoration work by local businesses and residences and planned to hire a sign company to repair the two Osceola Signs on Highway 81 92 as the chamber bicentennial project. A special meeting will decide lettering and repairs. Events include a domino contest parade bicycle rodeo pup pet show and chautauqua during the week of July 13 with free admission and home talent from Polk County. Midgets Fall to Gresham in Region Ballgames and Change Residence Notes
The Osceola Midgets lost 9-1 at Gresham after managing just one hit while Rob Sterup started and Zelasney finished the game. Earlier, Waco beat Osceola 7-3 in Osceola with Zelasney on mound and Bond catching. City notes list multiple residence moves and new owners across Osceola including the Schafers and the Hurd residence.

Lions And Fair Board Sponsor Bicycle Rodeo
The Osceola Lions Club with the Polk County Agricultural Society sponsor a bicycle rodeo at the fair grounds after the parade on Wednesday afternoon July 16. Events include safety inspection test ride a prescribed course control ride bike balance and figure eight with trophies for top rider in three age groups under 8 9 10 and 11 to 13. Entry day is July 16 at the fairgrounds contact Paul Carlson or Don Sigler for details.

Wheat and Feed Grain Loan Options For Producers
The USDA announced anniversary loan options under the 1975 wheat and feed grain programs as of Nov 27 1974. Loans run 11 months after maturity with farm or warehouse storage. Farm loans use certified storage and a county loan rate. warehouse loans require CC C approved storage and a prepaid receipt. Eligible crops include wheat oats barley and rye through March 31 1976 and corn and grain sorghum through May 31 1976. Interest stands at 6 1/8 percent with a review planned for Oct 1 1975.
