Three Hospitalized After Collision At County Cross Roads

Verlie Johnston a 13 year old son of Mr and Mrs Clifford Johnston was seriously injured in a pasture riding accident last Sunday morning. His horse stepped in a hole and fell crushing both pelvic bones and one hip. He was taken to Osceola for X rays then sent by ambulance to St Josephs Hospital in Omaha for treatment.

Wheat Yields Exceed Expectations In Early Harvest
Reports from fields harvested on Wednesday show yields ahead of forecast. Leo Kresha finished early with up to 40 bushels per acre of high quality wheat and low moisture tests. Allan Kresha’s 14 acre field was set to yield 40 to 50 bushels, with 59 to 60 pounds per bushel. Overall yields average about 20 bushels per acre with good quality.

Nearly 400 Butler and Polk county farmers share a regular five percent dividend from the Butler County National Farm Loan Association of David City.
