At the Monday Boy Scout meeting in the school auditorium, 15 Scouts received tenderfoot pins during an investiture ceremony. Lt. Commander R. O Peterson of the American Legion Post introduced the troop committee, led by D. W. McFadden, with DeVerne Rodema as Scoutmaster. The event featured the flag and troop colors, the Scout Motto and Laws, and speeches by Rev. Randall and committee members. March of Dimes Campaign Gains Momentum in County Areas
Edith Heilman, county campaign chair, says the 1948 March of Dimes drive is going over the top with strong rural support. Carleton Anderson notes rapid responses with many families giving five or ten dollars or more. Rural totals reach about 225 dollars as campaigns start, while town chairmen push ahead toward higher overall contributions to cover medical costs of about 2400 dollars and last year’s 1525 dollar total.

Two Former Residents Injured in California
Relatives learned last week that Luther Eyler and Art Hotchkiss of Clear Water California were seriously hurt last Tuesday after falling from a high scaffold. Eyler suffered a broken back but was reported out of danger after being placed in a cast. Hotchkiss injuries' severity had not been learned at this writing.
