Narrow escape after car hits freight at Highway 16 crossing

Obituary of Marguerite Marks of Polk Nebraska
Marguerite Lucille Marks, born August 29 1903 in Ord Nebraska, taught in Polk High School for ten years after graduating York College in 1926. She married Harold L Nelson in 1929 and left behind daughter Katherine Gertrude, her husband, her mother Katie Marks of Ord, and sister Mrs Wm Schuer. Her life ended December 28 after a lifelong Christian service. Morris Island was in Omaha on business one day last week.

Miss Alice Taylor aged 65 daughter of a York county pioneer family and longtime Bradshaw resident died at her sister’s home in Lincoln on Monday December 28. She had lived in Bradshaw for 25 years and funeral services were held there Wednesday afternoon. Surviving are three brothers William and Lee Taylor of Bradshaw and John Taylor of Lushton and two sisters Mrs May Lagoni of Lincoln and Mrs Burnina Bick of Bradshaw.

Neighbors clear blizzard road for ill boy rescue
About forty neighbors of Mr and Mrs Hugo DeBere twelve miles northwest of Osceola answered a farm line plea to rush 13 year old Billy to a hospital. A pneumonia emergency required immediate care and snow drifts were cleared by shovels enabling an ambulance to Columbus hospital where the boy remains under an oxygen tent in grave condition.
