Former resident Mrs Guy Pearce died Saturday at her home in Litchfield Nebraska after illness. Funeral services were held there Tuesday afternoon and the remains brought to Osceola for Wednesday morning services at Kepner Funeral Home. Interment followed in Osceola cemetery. Baby Dies After Illness at Hastings Hospital
Chile Mioje eight month old daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Johnson of Alma Nebraska died Saturday evening December 27 at a Hastings hospital after throat ailment and surgery to save her life. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Franklin and Macon Nebraska with many relatives present. Doris Larson pallbearer and Winnie Johnson arrived from California for the funeral.

Mr and Mrs S J Funkhouser marked their 65th wedding anniversary with a candle light tea and open house in Shelby on Sunday December 28 1947. Relatives from Columbus and David City attended along with many friends. The couple wed December 31 1882 in Indianapolis and moved to Nebraska 61 years ago.
