County AAA Announces 1947 Corn Crop Loans Availability
The Commodity Credit Corporation will offer loans on the 1947 corn crop from December 1, 1947 through June 30, 1948. Loans apply to shelled corn with moisture not exceeding 13.5 percent during the loan period and corn moisture under 20.5 percent through March 31, 1948 to qualify. Loan price is 1.28 dollars per bushel for No. 3 grade or better. A sealling fee of one half cent per bushel or 3.00 dollars, whichever is greater, applies. Interest stays at 3 percent per year. Nebraska PMA notes county offices switch to a 40-hour week starting January 1, 1948, with Mondays–Fridays, closed Saturdays and holidays.
