Rodeo to Visit Osceola This Fall
The Miller Rodeo Co. will perform in Osceola on Saturday and Sunday August 4 and 5 at the fair grounds under the Polk County Fair Association. The event aims to raise funds for fair grounds improvements with a two day, percent based contract. The show, linked to Burwell and Sidney Iowa last year, will feature added seating and a new public address system for better viewing and announcements.

One Armed Man Makes Good In Sweden Return
A Stromsburg blacksmith Albert Nelson who lost his right arm designed and built a working mechanical arm. He patented the invention, later moved to Sweden where he lives in Rinkaby and runs a watch repair business while building a home. Word arrived last week of the death of Mae Dixon Anderson at her Washington home the cause apoplexy. She had lived in Osceola about fourteen years, worked as a night operator for Lincoln Telephone, served as matron at Geneva State Girls Industrial School, and lived in Washington the past year with her husband and five children Otis Dixon Mrs. William Love Roy Salli Howard and Kenneth Dixon.

Osceola drew the winners of the PitLoup Tournament in Genoa but fell to the champion Genoa 21 to 26 in the first round. Genoa then defeated Polk in the finals.
