The Nebraska town endures heavy rain and mud as creeks overflow and fences float. Residents improvise with makeshift transport and devices as livestock, birds, and people cope with rising water and a shifting day to day routine. F E Merrick Sons announces a Tuesday February 23 sale of 37 Duroc Jersey sows at their Osceola area farm three miles north and three miles east. Sows are mostly immuned and gifts offered. Nevada county fair style notice typical of local agricultural advertising.
Frank Keller announces a public sale at his farm located ten miles north and one hundred forty four miles east of Osceola Creamery and eighty four miles west of the Polish church. The auction Thursday February 25 features eight head of horses, farm machinery, and household goods with usual terms.
On Thursday February 25 at the Jones farm six head of horses and mules two milk cows ten Duroc Jersey brood sows thirty fall pigs one male hog and a complete list of farming implements will be sold. Terms are usual. GC A Larson.
Fine registered driving mare coming eight years old offered by E. Mickey. She won first at Nebraska state fair in 1913 and is described as one of the finest horses in the west.
KK Company Fourth Infantry N N G will be inspected by Lieut Stoll of the Regular Army at the Osceola Armory on Monday evening March 1. All members are requested to attend. A special meeting will be held Friday night February 26 with complete attendance desired. Regular drill tomorrow Tuesday night led by Captain R G Douglas.

High school seniors were entertained by faculty at the home of Superintendent and Mrs. C B Moore Saturday night. A delicious luncheon was served and the colonial theme ran through characters, conversation and costumes. If George Washington had seen Osceola, he might have cried out about their washing.
A meeting of the Farmers Grain Company at the Commercial Club Room in Osceola discussed entering lumber and coal. Final arrangements are expected at a second meeting on Monday March 1 at 10 a.m., with all members urged to attend.
Osceola routed Seward 383 to 17 on Friday night as Shelmadine and Byers led tight defense and long throws helped curb Seward’s scoring. Osceola’s second team then beat Stromsburg 24 to 10 on Saturday under Colin Campbell, with plans to face Polk High School next Thursday.
Evelyn Robson Parker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Robson, married Rolla Mace, son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Mace, at the Robson home in Gresham with Rev. C. C. Lowe officiating. The ceremony featured Rhoda Robson singing I Love You Truly and Lohengrin’s wedding march. A three course dinner followed. the newlyweds will reside on a farm north of Thayer after March 1.
