Ernfred Peterson aged 59 died Friday February 12 1960 after a long illness. Funeral services were held February 15 at 2:00 PM in the Evangelical Covenant Church Stromsburg with Rev John H Carlson officiating. Burial followed in Osceola Cemetery.

Cheerful Helper 4-H Meeting and Local Visits

The United States Treasury Department honored E. C. Nordlund and county banks for saving bond sales. Nordlund, Polk county chair, noted 1959 purchases reached 107 percent of quota. Banks, selling about 90 percent of state bonds, received red blue and gray citations for patriotic service.
