Osceola and Stromsburg in Polke County are named among Nebraska towns chosen for Class I airports by the Civil Aeronautics Commission. Nationwide over 4 000 airports are planned, with 101 Nebraska sites in Class I. About half the cost to be funded by the federal government. runways 1,800 to 2,700 feet.

The note, translated by August Tenn, describes a town damaged by war with 60 students in a school where many families lost homes and live in barracks. The children send a big kiss and thanks.

Brazee Weds Stromberg in Shelby Nebraska Church

Miss Nan Wathryn Brazee daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Brazee of Shelby married William L. Stromberg son of Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Stromberg of Stromsburg in a 3:30 p m ceremony at the Evangelical United Brethren Church Shelby. Rev C F Wantz officiated before 200 guests with solos by Viola Curry. The bride wore ivory satin and tulle with a long train and seed pearl coronet carrying white roses. Attendants included Maid of Honor Beth Brazee and sister Sharon Brazee flower girl. Allen Stromberg best man with ushers Charles Stromberg and Billy Zedicher. A reception followed in the church parlors and the couple will reside in Stromsburg.

Farm Bureau Holds Kick Off Banquet in Shelby

Polk County Farm Bureau gathered 125 attendees at the Shelby Parish Hall for the annual Kick-Off Banquet. Roland G. Nelson of Mead Nebraska spoke on Why I Am A Farm Bureau Member. A county membership drive continues with a goal to cover the county by February 14 and a check-up meeting planned at High Prairie school house.

Irvin G McBeth Dies in California

Irvin G McBeth died Friday February 7 in Los Angeles after years of ill health. Born May 3 1881 near Osceola he married Mabel West in 1906 and had two children Lois Woodwards and Lyle McBeth both of Los Angeles. He is survived by five brothers and one sister. funeral was held February 11 in Los Angeles with interment there.
