Polk County farmers offered 81 cent wheat for feed use
Polk County farmers may buy back stored 1943 wheat at 81 cents per bushel if used for feed through Commodity Credit. The offer covers farm or warehouse stored wheat for February only, with a 60 day limit. Over 23,000 bushels sold in county elevators. Affected farmers can also borrow up to 5000 ft of USDA War Board electric wire if they meet livestock unit specs. A February 13 radio broadcast from KHMMJ will describe 4 H mobilization for 1943 aiding the war effort.
