Gresham Woman Homesteader Dies at 82
Mrs. O. M. Bond, 82, longtime Polk county resident and homesteader near Gresham, died Monday in a York hospital from pneumonia after two broken hips from a fall at home. She had been recovering from cataract surgery. Survived by eight children. husband predeceased her, dying ten years ago. Children in Polk county include Roy Bond of Lodgepole and Mrs. Charles Ryan of Loup City.

The Polk County treasurer's office saw heavy traffic as residents rushed to buy 1939 license plates. Clerk Smith and aides issued 307 licenses that day, bringing the year's total to 2792 with about 1000 plates left to meet the 4000 quota. Mrs. Martha Colman Die in California Home
Mrs. Martha Ella Colman, 78, died Friday at the home of her son Hearild S. Colman in Los Angeles while wintering with her sons. A native of Ohio, she moved to Nebraska as a child, married Orange J. Colman in 1882, lived in Holt County Osceola and Columbus, and settled in Lincoln in 1905. She was a long time Second Presbyterian member and also leaves three sons and a daughter. Funeral and burial were in Lincoln.

Frank Keller Dies and Remains Returned to Columbus
Frank Keller 58 formerly of Columbus died suddenly in Denver Monday morning. Burial was at 2 p.m. yesterday in Columbus cemetery. He farmed near Columbus for years and is survived by daughter Lucille Maguire of Omaha brother Hardy Keller of Osceola and sisters Della Tschauner of Osceola and Gertie Avery of Palmer.
