Osceola Secures Federal Grant for Airport Project

Osceola gains a federal grant of more than 4500 dollars for an airport at the 160 acre site south of the county poor farm. A federal agent visited last week and city leaders say the project completes weeks of effort by Mayor Pierson, the council, and the community club. Twenty percent of funds go to materials, the rest to hand labor as Osceola joins a coast to coast program to promote aviation and national defense.

Dakes Observe Wedding Anniversary Celebration

About 130 friends gathered at Fairview Hall on December 20 to honor William and Mrs Dake on their 30th wedding anniversary.
