Ohm Tingue, Longtime Attorney and Mayor, Dies

Ohm Tingue passed away at home after a brief illness from triple pneumonia aged in his eighties. He began practicing law in Stromeburg in 1891 and served as City Attorney and mayor of Strom-Lore for three years. He was County Attorney during 1926-1928 and active in politics and welfare groups. Survived by one daughter Alberta Smith of Durango Colorado and several siblings. wife died in an auto accident years ago. Funeral plans not announced.

Christmas Pageant At Presbyterian Church Promises Novel Shadow Play

The Presbyterian Church offers The Old, Old Story a Christmas program told through shadow play and carols Sunday. A foreign group with members from Japan India China Mexico and India reenacts the Christmas story from Mark Luke Matthew and John. Santa Claus will visit after the program with treats for Sunday School members.

St Pauls Lutheran Church schedules Saturday 1 30 Sunday School practice and Sunday 10 am classes for the Christmas program. No vesper service due to Christmas Eve or day. Hospital Notes From Osceola Hospital Surgery

Rudolph Carlson had an appendectomy at Osceola Hospital last Wednesday evening performed by Dr. Ekund. Earlier that day his 10 year old son Junior also underwent an appendectomy. Miss Irvin D. Frye and her infant son returned Tuesday to Silver Creek.

Longtime Nebraska resident Jacob Luft dies at 85

Jacob Luft, born September 30, 1848 in Hainstatt Hessen, died December 16, 1938 in Shelby Nebraska at age 85. He lived in Osceola Cass county and Polk county before settling in Shelby in 1916. He married Mary Furnoff in 1875 and had twelve children. Surviving siblings include Sophia Moses Louise Broker and John Luft. Funeral rites cited a devotional verse and a note of noble life.
