Bond Couple Celebrates 53rd Wedding Anniversary
The Record honors Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Bond of Osceola who marked 53 years of marriage on December 20. United in 1870 at Warville Iowa, they raised six children with two surviving: Mrs. E. R. Ware of Osceola and Oscar Bond of Hartington Nebraska. Mr. Bond, a Civil War veteran, served as assessor and justice of the peace and helped found local organizations, while Mrs. Bond has been a charter member and leader in the W R C and Rebekahs. The couple’s long pioneer life in Nebraska is noted with warm congratulations.

Christmas yields and travels across Thayer county
May Hicks and wife spent Christmas day with relatives at Thayer. Dozens of neighbors shared meals and visits across towns including Friend and Shelby Churches. Numerous families from Polk, Rising, and Lincoln area joined holiday gatherings, with many trips to Omaha, Topeka, and Lincoln for Christmas observances.

Christmas Programs At Grace And Valley Churches
The Christmas programs were excellent and well attended. Credit goes to the committee and especially the parents for cooperation. The relief offering for European children totaled 62.51 dollars. Wesley Chapel Christmas Program Draws Overflow Crowd
The Wesley Chapel Christmas program filled the church and the minister's family received a large food basket. Richmond relatives attended Henry Nantke's for Christmas, Miss Leona Nantkes returned from Fairbury, and District 40 held a Friday program with John Cerney visiting Chappell. Alvin Merrick hosted Christmas guests Ruth Grant of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Chas Grant of Sioux City, Iowa.
