Nebraskans weigh state income tax validity before court
The Nebraska Supreme Court considers whether the 1967 state income tax and a food sales tax credit violate state constitution, with arguments about linking to federal rules and taxation without representation. Plaintiffs include Crete residents Anderson and Weilage, plus Council Bluffs residents Etherington and Bray, and others. The case also involves challenges to two bonding laws for the Clean Waters Commission and the Game Commission, and a pair of deputy engineer appointments within the State Roads Department.
