Golden Wedding At Stromsburg Marks Fifty Years For Donelsons
The A C Donelson home in Stromsburg hosts a fiftieth wedding anniversary for the mayor and his wife. A noon dinner followed by a program from their children and grandchildren honors the couple. Andrew C Donelson, born 1851 in Sweden, came to the U S in 1855 and settled in Stromsburg, where Maggie has remained. The couple has nine children, four sons Clinton F Arthur N William R and Ernest E and two daughters Florence Haverland and Lillie Widge, all in Polk County area.

Donelsons Celebrated Pioneer Life in Stromsburg Parish
Samuelson born in Sweden January 11 1855 came to America at age 11 in 1866. She and John Donelson settled near Stromsburg Polk County for thirty five years and later moved to a homestead east of the old home. They joined Stromsburg church in 1891 and are noted as the church’s oldest living members with sixteen grandchildren and a history of travel and community service. Reverend M W Rose spoke at a noon luncheon and offered greetings from The Record.

Tuberculosis Eradication Progress Report in Polk County
The bulletin notes rapid eradication efforts with testing in Hackberry and Canada precincts. Of 1 689 cattle tested, 209 reactors and infected cattle were shipped to Omaha for slaughter under supervision. The five weeks old daughter of Mr and Mrs Milton Johnson residing two and a half miles west of the city died last Saturday. Rev C A Sward of Swede Home conducted the funeral Monday and the remains were laid to rest in Swede Cemetery.

Kick by horse may be fatal on Platte farm
Fritz H. Olson of Platte precinct sustained a severe kick to the right side while handling horses on the Larson farm. The kidney was torn away and removed after an emergency operation at the hospital.
