Bulldogs narrowly top East Butler in Friday thriller

OHS edged East Butler 63 to 62 as Scot Sipes and Derald Johnson each scored 14 points and Russell Miller added 13 while Neal Roehrs had 12. The Bulldogs led 17 15 after the first period on 62 percent field shooting.

Neil Oxton of Lincoln is elected president of the Nebraska Farmers Union at the Norfolk convention. He succeeds Louis Wiebe as president and will lead 350 delegates and members, with discussions on farm parity and a December 14 strike.

Osceola Narrowly Falls Lakeview in Double Dual

Osceola lost 27 29 to Lakeview after split results in a double dual. Tim Bachenberg and Pat Wieseman won two matches each, while Eric Henderson scored two pins including the fastest fall of the meet. Osceola had earlier defeated St. Edward 48 12.

Moisture Surpasses Normal in Osceola Through November 1977

Weather records show Osceola's moisture for January to November 1977 at 41.41 inches, well above the 25.55-inch normal. November contributed 1.71 inches with a 1.08-inch rain and four inches of snow on the 8th and 3rd, adding to drifting and difficult snowfall measurements amid strong northwest winds. Temperatures ranged from 63 on the 30th to 5 degrees on the 25th–26th. The 5th saw 1.8 inches of snow.
