Mrs Christina Peterson 81 died at her home four miles east of Stromsburg last Saturday night. Funeral at Swedish Baptist Church Tuesday with Rev Ekloff. Local Families Attend Thanksgiving and Visits Across Towns

Beulah Mr and Mrs George Heinemeyer and son Donald were dinner guests at Ben Finecy home. G P Mace visited son Guy and family in Chicago. Merritt Graham hosted a family dinner in Clarks. Lawrence Campbell and family visited Stockville. Grand Island visitors included Mrs Nev Collier, Mrs Marguerite Heimbaugh, and Mrs Wm Dake with daughters. Fairview Ladies Aid held a food sale at Osceola. Thanksgiving guests included Roy Frizzell family Willard Carter family and others. Several residents attended football in Lincoln and a High Prairie program.

Holidays Bring Kin and Friends Across Nebraska

Verne Kuntzelman drove to Sioux City with sister Maybelle Atkinson for holidays and she returned home Saturday. Lincoln visitors included Mr and Mrs Richard Cole and D C Cole with son Leonard. Several families shared Thanksgiving and weekend gatherings in Shelby and McCool. O A Watkins hurt a toe on Friday but recovery reported steady. Leonard Cole and companions joined a Shelby trip to Lincoln for football and visits.

A 20337.84 check from Union Pacific headquarters in Omaha was mailed to K A Cornish Polk County Treasurer on November 28 covering Union Pacific Railroad Company property taxes for 1927. Tax breakdown includes school 9128.91 county 4229.68 city 1771.15 state 5208.10. Railroad tax commissioner G G Holcomb says it represents full tax payment as assessed by the State Board of Equalization.
