Armchair Quarterback Contest opens in Record today

The Record announces the annual Armchair Quarterback Contest with a Sept 8 high school game entry deadline at 5 p.m. The 11 week contest ends with the Nebraska college game. First prize is weekly money and printing of the winner’s name.

Boulder man climber endures nightmare on Mt McKinley

Jerry Lewis of Boulder Colorado survived a summer expedition that reached Mount McKinley Alaska amid danger. Seven climbing companions died and Lewis suffered frostbite before returning home to recuperate. He is the son of Mrs Laurel Lewis and grandson of Mrs A W Lewis with a deceased father. He works for a mountain land development firm and studies part time at a university.

Main farm work includes hay baling and irrigating. Corn and milo about 2-3 weeks late due to cold wet weather. Most livestock in good condition from strong pasture growth.
