Ryan Hill Members Formed Trap League

The Ryan Hill Country Club formed a Fall Trap League with six teams of five shooters, running five weeks to September 14. An individual Hicker competition follows on September 21 with trophies and an appreciation supper. Officers: Alan Russell chair, Leonard Davidson co chair, Doug Holm secretary, Ron Boruch treasurer. Team sponsors include Osceola Body Shop Tenniges Chevrolet Holm Insurance Osceola Implement Nice Guys and Os Gold. High scorers were Ron Tewell 45 Leonard Davidson 42 Norman Bruner 41 Doug Bohaty 40. Youth For Understanding Brings Two New OHS Students

Young delegates Teodosio Abat and Dirk Smets arrived in Osceola to study for 10 months under the YFU program. Abat from Quezon City Philippines joins Osceola High School as a junior while Smets from Brussels Belgium enters as a senior. Both live with local host families and plan to participate in classes sports and band activities during the year.

LIFE Organization Expands Help for Elderly in Seven Counties

LIFE expands information and referral services for seniors across Butler Fillmore Polk Saline Saunders Seward and York counties. Welcome to Osceola Mr and Mrs Jim Breeden new store owners moved here earlier this month reside in the former Larry Johnson home on Sherman Street They have two children Kevin 15 and Kathryn 12 He is a former postal worker and painting contractor from Omaha and she is a registered nurse They remodel and expand the store on the south side of the square hoping full stock by fall Doors open daily to shoppers while under renovation residents and area neighbors are invited to visit.

Crop loan maturity dates extended to October 31 1977

The U S Department of Agriculture extended all 1976 crop wheat and feed grain CCC loans maturing before October 31 1977 to October 31 1977 at the producer's option. No storage allowance during extension. loans are nonrecourse requiring cash repayment with interest or forfeiture of the crop. County ASCS offices handle extensions.

Nebraska graduate and upcoming events from Lincoln

Evan Wieseman earned a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Nebraska after the second summer session on August 19. Diplomas were distributed to nearly 100 graduates at an afternoon reception in the Nebraska Union. Friday night, August 26, the Shelby Area Jaycees will host a Donkey Softball game at Shelby Ball Park at 8:00 p.m.
