Kathy McVeigh, daughter of Mr and Mrs Art McVeigh, began work August 9 as an educational consultant with the Central Nebraska Support Service Program. The CNSSP funds mandated by December 1976 require districts to provide programs for handicapped students.

The Osceola district announces the 1976 77 academic year begins Monday August 30 with bells at 8 40 a m The buildings open at 8 30 a m for students Then football practice starts August 16 and girls volleyball practice August 23 Registration for grades seven through high school is August 26 There is no school on Labor Day September 6

Locals Sweep Two Playoff Games in Osceola

Osceola won 15 to 3 against Staplehurst in the first Bicentennial League playoff game at Staplehurst. In the Monday rematch Osceola trailed York 6 to 2 through 8 innings before storming back to win 7 to 6 and reach the final series with Seward. The final series starts Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in Osceola.
