Roof Blows Off Home of Dr. Ralph Sturdevant at Linco

Word arrives of a wind storm Saturday that blew the roof from Dr. Ralph Sturdevant's Linco residence. Supt. C. E. Andrews returns to Osceola to begin school preparations after touring a five day Standard chautauqua circuit in Nebraska and South Dakota. Mrs. Andrews stays at their Loup county ranch near Burwell while repairs at the school are being arranged.

Swede Home Lutheran to mark 50th anniversary weekend

The Swede Home Lutheran church plans a three day 50th anniversary program with revival and jubilees. Rev E G Knock and Rev A Rosinquist will speak Friday. Saturday features jubilee service talks and a confirmation program. Sunday includes Holy Communion and an historical program with sermons. Free meals will be served Saturday and Sunday for guests.

Nelson Bros Silo Losses and Local Notices

Two Nelson Bros silos damaged by a wind and rain storm near Stromsburg with a third silo at Edwin Swanson’s farm badly damaged. Mail Plane Signal Light Now Operating at Timm Field

The postal department night mail planes now have a signal light at Timm field. Installed on a steel tower, the revolving beam attracts many local residents who come to view the illumination. The light sweeps across the countryside lighting the landscape for miles and draws dozens of cars each evening.

Campfire Girls Visit Milford Kiwanis Camp

The Osceola Campfire Girls travel to Kiwanis Camp on the Blue River near Milford for a week long outing. Eleven girls in three cars led by F D Mills W O Hansen and Everett Waite will return Saturday. They learn outdoor skills including swimming canoeing hiking and camp craft in the summer camp setting.
