Car stolen from Stromsburg owned by Dr. J C Malster
A Buick sedan belonging to Dr J C Malster was stolen from Stromsburg Thursday morning. Sheriff Van Hoosen pursued the vehicle and found it abandoned near the Dutch Mill filling station west of Omaha after a tire went flat. The car had no damage but a cushion and a spare tire were missing. Earlier that morning two Stromsburg businesses were entered for gas and tires, with no apparent connection to the theft or robberies.

Polk County youth Gordon Predisksen son of Axel and Mrs redricksen won best boy camper at the district 4-H Club camp near Seward. More than 200 youths attended with Polk sending 26 including leader and County Agent Kelly. The Fairy Fingers Sewing Society led Polk with nine delegates and three Shelby youths attended for a third year.
