102nd Anniversary of Civil War Vet L B Musselman
Nebraska's oldest Civil War veteran L B Musselman, age 102, celebrated at his Norfolk home. Born July 28 1842 near Newark Ohio he served four years in the Union Army under Grant at Vicksburg. He has one son Harry 78 of Osceola and two daughters 76 Norfolk and 74 Chicago. He moved from Osceola to Norfolk in 1900.

Charles Bernard Knerr born March 22 1871 in Jefferson County Town died July 22 1946 at his country home after a sudden illness. He moved to Polk County with his parents in 1873 and lived near Stromsburg most of his life. He married Freda Holmquist February 7 1918 and had three children Morris Doris and John J Morris. Doris survives in Kansas City and John at home along with his wife and others. He is survived by three sisters and two brothers with one sister and two brothers preceded him in death.

Commodity Credit Corporation grain loans are available through the AAA office with wheat at 1.51 per bushel for No. 1 grade and oats at 0.48 per bushel. Loans run to December 31 1946 and are due April 30 1947 with 3 percent interest and a one cent per bushel service charge. Milk and butter fat subsidies are paid for April June at 0.17 per pound butterfat and 0.60 per cwt milk in April, and 0.15 per pound butterfat and 0.45 per cwt milk for May and June. Applications must be filed by August 31 1946. Subsidies on sheep and cattle sold by June 30 1946 are payable within 60 days of sale. Federal Crop Insurance Corporation offers all risk three year wheat insurance for 1947 1948 1949 with 75 or 50 percent coverage. See AAA office or agent for details. CERNY SWAN NUPTIALS Miss Louise Swan of St Marys Pilsen wed Donald Cerny of Osceola on Tuesday morning July 23 at St Marys Church. The ceremony was performed by Rev Edward J Jaworowski. Attendants included Marge Swan Dolores Cerny and others. The couple will live near Osceola after a two weeks trip to northern Minnesota and Canada.
