Obituary of Mrs Sally Seaver
Mrs Sally Seaver died Monday noon April 23 1934 in Osceola Iowa aged 80 years 22 days. Born March 21 1854 in Iowa she moved to Polk County after marriage and then to Osceola in 1923. Survived by granddaughter Birdelle Clark sister Susie Robertson brother David Blair and survived by many friends. Funeral April 25 at Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev Sheldon Price. burial Shelby Cemetery.

The Cecia ball club defeated Silver Creek on Silver Creek grounds in the curtain raiser for the Mid-State League. Tad Diken pitched well aside from one bad inning and also contributed with the bat. The game impressed as a solid opener with both teams showing midseason quality. Next Sunday Osceola hosts Fullerton to open the season.

Mess Opal Wilson of Stromsburg is expected to go home later this week after an appendicitis operation by Dr. Anderson and Dr. R. L. Schroeder. Ruby Wieseman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Wieseman, was admitted as a medical patient Saturday and is under Dr. Schroeder. Mrs. Tillman Joy and Archie Marsden, patients of Dr. Harley Eklund, are set for release later this week. Mrs. A. J. Herrmann had a minor operation by Dr. Eklund Monday. Miss Laura Kriesar of York, a registered nurse, is assisting at the Osceola Hospital this week.

Mrs Joseph Anderson 60 Dies After Ill Health
Mrs Joseph Anderson died Wednesday night April 18 1934 at her home west of Osceola aged 60 years 8 months 24 days after 21 months of illness. Born Selma Olson Providence Rhode Island December 24 1873 she came to Stromsburg Nebraska in 1886 and taught school two years after high school. She married Joseph Anderson in October 1893 and had four children Glennis Grafton Clement Marion and Robert. Surviving are four children two grandchildren and several siblings. Funeral at First Baptist Stromsburg conducted by Rev W E Hedburg with burial in Stromsburg Cemetery.

Polk county farmers may apply for wheat reduction program contracts at the Osceola courthouse by 6 p m Saturday April 28. The base period is the year 1922 with 1932 harvests used for 1932 seeding. New signers receive eight cents per bushel on the allotment, and 1934 payments depend on 25 percent or more of 1932 crop acreage. The local association stresses the value of allotment payments amid lower wheat prices.
